Enjoy the robust wines of Spain paired with tapas-style offerings prepared by Executive Chef Mark Payne during a "Viva España" Spanish Tapas Wine Celebration on May 12, 2009.
Winemakers from mor ethan 20 of Spain's finest vineyards will showcase over 25 varietals from the rich North-East regions outside of Barcelona and the famous North-Central regions of Rioja.
Executive Chef Payne and his team present a stunning menu of tapas-style dishes showcased at stations that weave from The Dining Room kitchen through The Glass Room.
Rich D.O.Ca. Rioja red wines from legendary winemaker, Bodegas Fernando Remirez de Ganuza; crisp D.O Rias Baixas Albariño white wines from Bodegas La Canal; and sparkling D.O Cava-Penedes from Vins El Cep, are just a few varietals that will be matched with:
- Confit of Gunthrop Farm pork belly with fabada(Spanish bean stew).
- Pan seared sweetbreads with fennel pollen.
- Fried white anchovies, salsa verde.
- Salad of Manchego, Arbequina olive.
- Dessert finale of such items as apple empanadas and creme Catalana.
The "Viva España" Spanish Tapas Wine Celebration is $95 per person excluding tax and gratuity and begins at 6 p.m.
